Automation of Ball Valves is done by using pneumatic or electrical actuators. The actuators are mounted on to the ball valves using special brackets and are controlled by 90 degree operation, to open or close the valve. It is important to choose the right kind of actuator, by knowing the torque required to operate the valve.

Gate Valves are controlled with continuous rotation of motors, rotating in opposite directions to close and open the valve. The upper and the lower limits of the Gate Valve are controlled by limit switches, which signals the motor to stop then the valve reaches the extremes. A control panel is used to control the time and interval of opening and closing of the valve. The control panel consists of indicator lamps, main switch, timers, contactors, MPCB etc and is programmed to operated as per customer's requirement. The Gate valve itself is modified to hold the limit switches and the motor and necessary brackets and mounting plates are provided to take care of this. There is also a provision to operate the valve manually, in case of emergency. The Automation is usually designed and executed as per customer's specific requirement.
